Plas Newydd is a beautiful 18th century house with spectacular panoramic views accross the Mennai Strait to Snowdoia.
Set in beautiful gardens there are tranquil woodland walks, an Australasian arboretum and pretty Italianate terrace garden. The exquisite Rex Whistler painting adorns the dinning room, with exhibitions dedicated to the atrist, including fantastic examples of Trompe L'oel, theatre designs and book illustrations. The house is also famous for its association with the 1st Marquess of Anglesey, who commanded the cavalry at the Battle of Waterloo and sported the first articulated wooden leg.
A new exhibition room features changing displays of work by local artists.
